Kenai Kapers

We spent the 4th of July in Fairbanks at June's daughter's. Here is a shot with Logan.

We went to the University of Alaska Museum, which is reportedly one of the best in the state.
While there, Tom had an encounter with an 8'10" brown bear. Fortunately Casper was with us, or we might not be sending this blog....
Sunday night, after recovering from the bear ordeal, we went to the Alaska Salmonbake for dinner. After dinner, Logan took a test drive on one of our local salmon.....

Monday morning we headed south towards the Kenai Peninsula. We stopped in Wasilla for the night, and yes folks, it is true. Tom could see Russia from there!....

Driving south of Anchorage today (just another big city - as Fairbanksans would say "5 minutes out of Alaska"..) we stopped for a photo op. Unfortunately there is a smokey haze today and the mountain views were not perfect...maybe tomorrow! It is a SPECTACULAR area, to quote Tom. Hopefully we'll send more mountain shots tomorrow! We are spending 2 nights in Seward.
