Sedona Setting

June's wonderful birthday "experience" started out with an early lunch at In-N-Out -- one of our favorite Arizona haunts. We then drove on to Sedona, about 120 miles from where we are staying. A beautiful drive thru all kinds of saguaro cactus, then into dry brushy areas, then into juniper trees, and finally into the red rock country of Sedona, after passing thru Verde Valley. Tom had made arrangements for us to stay at Boots and Saddle Bed and Breakfast...a spot he found on the internet. Boy, did he do good! It was an incredible place, and he picked the best room, Sacred Feather. We walked around downtown
Sedona area, and then relaxed a bit before an amazing Italian meal at Dahl & DiLuca. Here are some pictures of our room...notice the open shower, and the hot tub on our deck...

Here are some scenes from the Sedona area, although somehow the pictures do not do it justice...it is redder than the pictures show.

This is called Coffeepot...

Friday morning we were treated to a special gourmet breakfast. We shared a table with Mike and Brenda. Mike was also there celebrating his birthday (a surprise trip planned by his wife!). We enjoyed our visit with them very much. Mike is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and is 2nd in command in charge of security at the upcoming Olympics in Vancouver!
Our Sedona adventure was a wonderful "experience" and made getting older much easier to take...and much more fun!
